He who sings prays twice. – St. Augustine
The Parish Adult Choir invites all parish members of High School age or beyond to join in them in enhancing the beauty and holiness of Mass through sung prayer. Choir members sing music that will bring closer the spirituality expressed through the readings, the homily, and the prayers that are unique to each and every celebration. Some prior experience in choral music is helpful, as is the ability to read music, but no experience is necessary to join the choir. If you have a love for singing, and want to share that love and the gift of your voice with our community, we invite you to join us!
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings in the church and begin at 7:30 PM. The choir also meets at 9:30 AM on Sunday for a final rehearsal before the 10:00 Mass. The choir takes time off during some of the summer months.
On October 11 we entered the Year of Faith, which also marked the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. This special year will end on the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King on November 24, 2013. During this year we are called to an “authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord.”
Please join us as together we seek to deepen our relationship with the Lord and strive for a greater understanding of the Gospel message through prayer, reflection and education.
