Parish Role Title: Pastoral Associate for Welcome and Evangelization at St. Regis Parish, 3695 Lincoln, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301.
Status: Full time, 12 month, 40 hours weekly, salary, exempt, reports to Pastor
Role Description
Collaborate with Pastor and Pastoral Leadership Team to creatively oversee, encourage and further develop the parish’s ministries of welcome and support for adults and young adults and parish initiatives of evangelization.
Key Responsibility Areas
A. Provides leadership and management of parish evangelization initiatives.

  1. Articulates a vision and direction for parish evangelization ministry and activity.
  2. Integrates insights from current approved resources on evangelization into program planning.
  3. Communicates to Pastoral Leadership Team and parish (bulletin, website, social media, email, USPS postcards, etc.) information that pertains to evangelization activity.
  4. Secures resources (AV, parish library, textbooks, liturgy materials, physical environment, etc.) for operations of evangelization activity.
  5. Proposes budgetary needs and monitors approved budget for evangelization activity.
  6. Conducts annual assessment and evaluation of evangelization activity.

B.  Develops, oversees and supports parish welcome ministries.

  1. Develops a Welcoming Ministry / New Parish Member Mentor Ministry.
  2. Helps discern and connect parish members to areas of parish ministry.
  3. Strengthens hospitality ministry in the parish.

C.  Encourages and supports efforts to develop intra-parish small faith sharing and support groups.

  1. Develops support ministries to address parish member needs.
  2. Proposes, helps develop and supports various small faith sharing experiences.

D.  Collaborates with other staff.

  1. Attends Parish Staff meetings and serves as a core member of the Pastoral Leadership Team.
  2. Collaborate with current Pastoral Staff to strengthen young adult and adult formation ministries.
  3. Collaborate with Christian Service ministry as needed.
  4. Attends Vicariate and Archdiocesan evangelization meetings.
  5. Fulfills other duties as reasonably assigned or requested by the Pastor

 Qualifications
A. Skills

  1. Understand evangelization ministry as articulated by the USCCB and the Archdiocese of Detroit.
  2. Self-starter with good creative energy.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of the importance of collaboration in parish ministry management.
  5. Good organizational skills and good pastoral leadership skills.
  6. Current with and able to use best communication practices, including use of computer, social media, etc.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards.

B.  Education, Training and / or Experience

  1. Formation and experience in parish evangelization ministry or other pastoral ministries.
  2. Leads a Catholic Christian-centered lifestyle as leader by example.
  3. Formal education in theology, pastoral ministry or related field.
  4. Bachelor’s degree with experience; Master’s degree preferred.
