Mr. Anastasia has been at St. Regis since 2021.
Additional Information
I am delighted to begin serving as a pastoral minister at St. Regis Parish. After many years in the Archdiocese of Detroit, involved with all aspects of parish life at nine different Churches, I am very glad to become part of this community of faith.
Graduate studies in Social Work at the University of Michigan led me to work with adults who experienced brain injuries, children with emotional impairments, and other disabled groups. My time as a medical Social Worker for the Visiting Nurse afforded me the opportunity to work with Hospice patients. Eventually, I began to work as volunteer organizer and grief/bereavement coordinator for the VNA Hospice program.
Before, during and after my social work, I maintained an evolving ministry within areas of Catholic Religious Education, Adult Formation, Christian Service, and Christian Initiation. Then, while completing the master’s degree in Pastoral Studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, I served as a pastoral minister in parishes from Detroit to Monroe and Royal Oak to Trenton. At so many varied Catholic Churches I have been overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of such good people. I continually wonder at the gracious care that God provides to those who call upon Him in faith. Our rich liturgy, outreach, and theology provide spiritual refreshment to so many in a world where spiritual thirst is common.
I draw a great deal of inspiration from open communication and I encourage you to contact me.
