Heather Sofran

Mrs. Heather Sofran, 2nd Grade Teacher, STEM Department Chair, Microsoft 365 Leadership Team

Mrs. Sofran grew up in West Bloomfield and attended Our Lady of Refuge Catholic grade school. She graduated from Marian High School and attended Bowling Green State University on a full volleyball scholarship, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Elementary Education (Concentration in Science).  She also holds a Master in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College.

Before having children, Mrs. Sofran taught at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs for five years. At OLQM she taught third grade and helped coordinate the science curriculum for grades K-5.  Prior to teaching at OLQM she taught third grade at Conner Creek Academy. She joined the staff of St. Regis Catholic School in 2012.

Mrs. Sofran is a 2015 Reflex Math Educator Grant Recipient and a member of the following associations; Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Michigan Science Teachers Association, Michigan Social Studies Group, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, & the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association.

Mrs. Sofran is an avid researcher of classroom STEM integration ideas and student differentiation. She feels both are necessary to meet the needs of today’s modern learner. She has presented to the St. Regis faculty and staff, as well as at AOD conferences, on these topics.
