Volunteer Opportunities

Get Involved at St. Regis

One of the most meaningful ways to live out our faith is by getting involved in the life of our parish. At St. Regis, we believe everyone has unique gifts, talents, and experiences to share, and there is a place for everyone to serve and belong.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to share your gifts while building friendships, strengthening our parish community, and helping others encounter the love of Christ. From helping at Sunday Masses and Holy Days of Obligation to supporting parish ministries, events, and outreach efforts, there are many opportunities to become involved.

Whether you are new to the parish, looking to meet others, or have been part of the St. Regis family for many years, we invite you to find a ministry, group, or opportunity that speaks to you. Your participation, whether once in a while or on a regular basis, can make a meaningful difference.

There is a place for you at St. Regis! Come share your gifts, meet fellow parishioners, and be part of the many ways our parish family lives and celebrates our faith together.

Serving the Lord Together in Faith and Worship

Sunday Mass Ministries

Serving in liturgical ministry is a meaningful way to share your gifts and support the worship life of St. Regis. Opportunities include assisting at the altar, proclaiming Scripture, welcoming parishioners, and sharing musical talents—all helping to create a prayerful and welcoming experience for our community.

If you feel called to serve, we invite you to complete the Ministry Sign Up Form. Forms may be submitted at Sunday Mass or returned to the Parish Office, and a member of our team will follow up with you.

The Ministry of Hospitality at St. Regis welcomes parishioners, high school age and older, who feel called to serve by creating a warm and inviting environment at our liturgical celebrations. This ministry brings together greeters and ushers in a shared mission of welcome, care, and service.

Greeters offer a friendly presence at the doors, assisting parishioners and visitors as they arrive for Mass. They help with directions, open doors, and support those needing assistance, ensuring that all feel seen and welcomed.

Ushers assist throughout the liturgy by helping people find seating, supporting the collection, preparing the offertory gifts, guiding the Communion procession, distributing bulletins, and helping restore the worship space after Mass.

Together, these ministers help foster a spirit of hospitality, reverence, and community at St. Regis.

We invite you to share your gift of welcome by joining the Ministry of Hospitality at a weekend Mass.

The ministry of Altar Server is a meaningful opportunity for young parishioners to assist at the altar and participate more fully in the celebration of the Mass. Altar Servers support the priest and deacon during the liturgy through their attentiveness, reverence, and service.

Servers assist with carrying the cross and candles, preparing the altar, presenting liturgical items, and helping the Mass flow prayerfully and smoothly. Their presence at the altar reflects a spirit of devotion and a willingness to serve God and the parish community.

This ministry offers young people a deeper connection to the liturgy while helping them grow in faith, responsibility, and confidence. Training is provided for all who are interested in serving.

We invite those who feel called to this ministry to share their gifts in service at the Lord’s altar.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass and, when needed, bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are homebound, hospitalized, or living in care facilities.

Those who serve in this ministry are called to approach the Eucharist with reverence, faith, and a spirit of humble service. Through their ministry, they help ensure that the faithful may fully participate in the celebration of the Eucharist and remain connected to the parish community.

Extraordinary Ministers serve at weekend liturgies, holy days, and other special celebrations throughout the year. Training and formation are provided for all ministers.

We are grateful for those who share this important ministry and witness to Christ’s presence through their service.

Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Through prayerful preparation and clear proclamation, lectors help bring Sacred Scripture to life for the parish community.

This ministry calls individuals to read with reverence, understanding, and confidence so that all gathered may hear and reflect upon God’s Word more deeply. Lectors typically proclaim the readings during Mass, lead the Prayers of the Faithful, and may assist during special liturgies throughout the liturgical year.

Serving as a lector is both a privilege and a responsibility, requiring a commitment to prayerful preparation and active participation in the life of the Church.

We invite parishioners who feel called to share the gift of God’s Word to consider becoming a lector at St. Regis.

Sacristans serve behind the scenes to help prepare the church and sacred vessels for Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Through their care, organization, and attention to detail, they help ensure that each liturgy is prayerful, reverent, and welcoming.

Responsibilities may include preparing the altar and liturgical books, setting out the sacred vessels, coordinating needed items for the celebration of the Mass, and assisting with the care of the worship space before and after liturgies.

This ministry is an important act of service that supports the clergy, liturgical ministers, and parish community. Sacristans play a quiet but vital role in the worship life of the parish through their dedication and stewardship.

We welcome parishioners who feel called to serve in this ministry of preparation and care.

Ministry to Sick or Homebound

As a parish family, we remain united in faith and prayer with those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness, age, or other circumstances. Through this ministry, St. Regis brings Holy Communion, prayer, and compassionate support to parishioners in their homes, hospitals, and care facilities, reminding them that they remain valued members of our community.

This ministry offers a meaningful way to share Christ’s presence with others through care and companionship. If you or a loved one would like to receive Holy Communion or the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, please contact the Parish Office for assistance.

Parishioners who wish to bring Holy Communion to a family member or friend who is unable to attend Mass are welcome to participate in this ministry of care and connection.

The parish will provide a pyx, which is a sacred container used to carry the consecrated host, along with guidance on how to reverently bring Holy Communion to someone who is sick or homebound. Once prepared, you may bring the pyx with you to any Mass and receive the Eucharist to take directly to your loved one.

This ministry is a meaningful way to share the comfort of Christ’s presence and help those who cannot attend Mass remain spiritually connected to the Church community.

Please contact the Parish Office for additional information or assistance.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to illness, age, hospitalization, or ongoing health concerns. Through this ministry, ministers bring the Eucharist directly to those who are homebound, offering prayer, companionship, and a continued connection to the life of the Church.

Those who serve in this ministry provide a comforting reminder that every member of our parish family remains loved, remembered, and spiritually united with the community gathered at the altar.

Training and guidance are provided for all ministers who feel called to share Christ’s presence through this compassionate ministry of care and service.

This ministry serves residents of nursing homes and senior living communities by bringing prayer, fellowship, and Holy Communion to those who may no longer be able to participate regularly in parish life.

Ministers lead simple prayer services that may include Scripture readings, shared prayer, reflections, and the distribution of Holy Communion. Through these visits, residents are offered spiritual nourishment, encouragement, and a meaningful connection to the wider Church community.

This ministry is especially rewarding for those who feel called to share compassion, conversation, and the comfort of faith with seniors and those in care facilities. Training and support are available for parishioners interested in serving in this important outreach ministry.

Please contact the Parish Office to learn more about participating in either of these ministries.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is at the heart of parish life at St. Regis. Through prayer ministries, parishioners grow in faith, support one another, and help foster a welcoming community centered in Christ.

We invite you to prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to serve. The Ministry Sign Up Form highlights current opportunities and areas of need within the parish.

Prayers of the Faithful at Mass

When parishioners experience illness, hardship, or other serious needs, our faith community is honored to lift them in prayer. Prayer intentions may be included in the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass and published in the parish bulletin. To submit a prayer request, please contact the Parish Office.

Legions of Mary

“All life is mine: the life of the parent is like the life of the child, both are mine.” ~Ez 18:4

The Legion of Mary, formed in 1921 in Ireland, is a parish-based apostolic organization to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Faith. It was established in the United States in 1931 and has over 2 million active members worldwide devoted to the spiritual works of mercy.

St. Regis has a morning and evening group, called a praesidium, of Legion of Mary members. We visit, pray, and bring Holy Communion to the lonely and the sick. We promote and encourage people to participate in devotions like Eucharistic Adoration and Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Adoration And Prayer Opportunities

Eucharistic Adoration is a sacred time set aside for prayer, silence, and quiet encounter with Jesus Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.

For scheduled times of Adoration or opportunities to participate, please contact the Parish Office or visit our parish schedule.

Come spend time with Jesus! Who better to spend time with? He is ready to sit with you and to speak to you. Can you come spend 10 or 20 or 30 or 60 minutes with Him? He would love to see you!

Eucharistic Adoration is offered every Monday – Friday from 12:30 – 6:30 p.m., with extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 8:30 p.m.  Parishioners and friends are invited to spend time sitting and praying before the Blessed Sacrament.

God is not outside of us, apart from us, but within us. He is a presence, present to us. God is total presence and relationship. He is love, always bringing us to His fullness of presence and relationship. Prayer is an entering into His love, into His presence, allowing Him to enter our presence and love. God’s presence is always a gift, continually being given. He cannot be otherwise for He is love; and each of us is an act of His love. We are His image; we are like Him. There is a secret, a hidden self in us; it is Himself.

Jesus’ love penetrates us. His presence enables us to have greater presence and consciousness, greater and greater love. There is no limit to the cumulative presence of love which sustains the deeper life. So, we are to “pray without ceasing.” Christ calls. We respond. It is through prayer that we hear the whispers of our Lord’s call within us. Where we come to know Him; to know His love.

What is Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament?

When the Blessed Sacrament—that is, the Eucharist—is publicly presented in a monstrance, a sacred vessel meant to display the Eucharist, we call this Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. As Catholics, this tradition has been carried on through the centuries, and St. Regis continues it to today.

What are the benefits of Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament?

Our current group of regularly scheduled Adorers have told us repeatedly that during Adoration they experience the love and mercy of God with blessings pouring down upon them. In the busyness and distraction of life it is good for us to commit to spending some consistent quiet time with Jesus to pray for ourselves, for others, and for the St. Regis community.

How can I participate in Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament?

Now is a perfect time to add this type of prayer to our lives.  What a difference it would make for the parish and for us, if everyone came to Exposition and Adoration at some point during the week. Whether you stop in for ten minutes while waiting for children to be dismissed from school, for half an hour before a meeting at the parish, on your way home from work, or for a regularly scheduled hour each week, the fruits of spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament are innumerable.

Sit and pray quietly. Pray the rosary. Bring prayer intentions before the Lord. Gaze on His presence. Meditate on the upcoming Sunday readings (books are in the chapel pews). Bring a book for spiritual reading. Whatever you do, it is a time to be with the risen Jesus in a special way; to experience his merciful presence that calms minds and hearts, heals wounds, and open us to the Spirit.

How do I sign up for a regularly scheduled time?

Currently, our Eucharistic Adoration hours are from 12:30 – 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended time till 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.  We still have need of more scheduled adorers for a number of those hours.  Please pray about it

Eucharistic Adoration is a sacred time set aside for prayer, silence, and quiet encounter with Jesus Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. In the stillness of adoration, parishioners are invited to rest in God’s presence, offer their prayers and intentions, and deepen their relationship with the Lord.

This time of prayer offers space for reflection, gratitude, and intercession for the needs of the Church, the parish, and the world. Many find in Eucharistic Adoration a source of peace, healing, and renewed faith.

St. Regis welcomes all who wish to spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. For scheduled times of Adoration or opportunities to participate, please contact the Parish Office or visit our parish schedule.

The Rosary is a cherished Catholic devotion that invites us to reflect on the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of His Blessed Mother, Mary. Through its rhythm of prayer and meditation on the mysteries of the Gospel, the Rosary draws us more deeply into the heart of Christ.

At St. Regis, the Rosary is prayed in community at designated times, as well as individually by parishioners throughout the week. It is a powerful prayer for peace, healing, and spiritual growth, uniting us with the universal Church in faith and devotion.

We invite you to join us in praying the Rosary or to make it part of your personal prayer life. For scheduled parish Rosary opportunities, please contact the Parish Office or refer to our parish calendar.
